Clear your calendar, because the next 72 hours are stacked. A G-Shock collab with one of the most respected streetwear shops on the planet drops Friday, a hand drawn GMT from a micro brand favorite goes live Thursday night, and on Saturday the watch world finds out who wins the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Two of these are cheap enough to actually buy, and both are limited, so here’s exactly when and where. Every date, price and spec below was checked against the brand or a named outlet on November 4, 2026.

G-Shock x UNION DW-5600RBG: $165, drops November 6

UNION started in SoHo in 1989, opened its Los Angeles store in 1991, and became a reference point for streetwear culture. Owner Chris Gibbs and the UNION LA team have now put their stamp on the most classic G-Shock of all, the square DW-5600 (Worn & Wound, Vulkan Magazine).

The design is a flag motif rebuilt in the red, black and green of the Pan African flag, the flag Marcus Garvey created and the UNIA adopted in 1920. As G-Central and House of Heat point out, the treatment also echoes the African American Flag that artist David Hammons made in 1990, though House of Heat notes the official press release doesn’t mention Hammons by name (G-Central, House of Heat). The print runs across the whole face and even tints the LCD red and green. Hit the backlight and UNION’s Frontman logo glows on the screen, and the same logo is engraved on the steel caseback. Even the keepers on the strap get a red, black and green tri ring.

Under the paint it’s the DW-5600 you know, which is a good thing. Notebookcheck, citing Casio, lists a bio based resin case at 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4mm and 52 grams, mineral glass, 200 meters of water resistance, a 1/100 second stopwatch, countdown timer, alarms, full auto calendar and a CR2016 battery rated for about five years (Notebookcheck).

How to get one: $165 in custom packaging. It launches November 6 in the US through UNION’s online store and the UNION LA shop on La Brea, then November 7 in Japan as the DW-5600RBG-1JR at UNION Tokyo and Osaka for ¥19,800 (Notebookcheck, TSI Holdings via PR Times). TSI’s release says the collab marks UNION LA’s 35th anniversary. G-Central adds that a wider worldwide release is expected, but no date has been confirmed, so treat that as unconfirmed.

My take? This is how you do a collab. It’s the same bombproof square G-Shock, it costs $165, and the story behind it is real instead of a logo slapped on a dial. UNION collabs tend to vanish on drop day, so if you want one at retail, be ready Friday. If you miss it, check sold G-Shock x UNION listings on eBay before you pay a flipper’s asking price, because sold prices tell you what the watch actually trades for.

Spinnaker Dumas GMT Inkdial: hand drawn, 450 per color, $495

Spinnaker’s Dumas GMT already punches above its price. Now the brand has teamed up with Ben Li, the British Chinese illustrator known online as Inkdial, to redraw it by hand (Spinnaker). The dial is worked in cross hatching and outline so it reads like a sketch, not a print, right down to an “Ink-made” mark at 6 o’clock.

There are two versions, each limited to 450 numbered pieces:

  • Ink Blue, SP-5188-01: deep blue dial and hands with a silver GMT hand on a blue rubber strap.
  • Ink White, SP-5188-02: a pale paper toned dial with a gold GMT hand on a grey rubber strap.

Specs per Spinnaker and Watch Overviews: a 43mm faceted steel case 14.9mm thick, a bidirectional 24 hour bezel, flat sapphire with anti reflective coating, screw down crown, 30 ATM of water resistance, 22mm rubber strap, and green and blue Super-LumiNova. Inside is the TMI NH34 automatic GMT, and the exhibition caseback shows a rotor inscribed “Paper Casing and Inkdial.” For Inkdial’s sixth anniversary, six boxes in the run hide a card signed and numbered by Ben Li himself.

How to get one: $495 each. Spinnaker’s purchase page lists the drop at 11:30 PM Eastern on Thursday, November 5 (8:30 PM Pacific), which is November 6 in Europe. People who signed up before launch get a one hour early access link first, and there’s a limit of one per color and two total per customer.

Real talk: this is a 43mm, almost 15mm thick sports watch, so it wears big. But a true GMT movement, a screw down crown and a dial you’ll never confuse with anything else for under $500? That’s the kind of micro brand move that makes the hobby fun. If you’ve been hunting for a travel watch on a budget, this belongs on the list. For a pro level GMT to dream about, my Rolex GMT Master II 16710 buyer’s guide breaks down the legend. GPHG 2026: the winners land Saturday, November 7

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève is as close as watches get to the Oscars, and the 26th edition happens this Saturday. Hodinkee reports 84 nominated watches competing for 19 prizes, topped by the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix, the best in show award (Hodinkee). The ceremony starts at 6:30 PM in Geneva, which is 12:30 PM Eastern, at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, and you can stream it on gphg.org or on Hodinkee.

A few things are different this year, per Hodinkee. The ceremony will be held entirely in English for the first time. The categories no longer split men’s and women’s watches and are organized around the type of watch instead. The jury of 24 includes Hodinkee senior editor Mark Kauzlarich, and its vote counts for two thirds of the result, with the GPHG Academy’s ranked votes making up the other third. After the show, the finalists head to the Watches of Switzerland Knightsbridge showroom in London, open to the public November 19 to 23.

I’ll be watching, and I’ll have the winners for you once they’re announced.

If a sub $500 GMT is tempting, you’ll like the Casio CMK-100 and Omega X-33 roundup, where Casio went after the Explorer look for cheap. Another strong buy at this level is in my Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 buyer’s guide. And catch up on this morning’s AP stone dial and Farer Stratton II news.
